The latest GGOA Readers' Survey to select the best goal that the Squirrels have scored in J1 has ended in a dramatic tie. Three goals received the same number of votes and therefore must share the Best Goal crown. They are Daigo Kobayashi's blistering long-range effort in May 2006 at Yokohama F Marinos; the spectacular run and shot by Denis Marques a couple of months ago against Kashiwa Reysol; and the memorable chipped finish from outside the area by Chikara Fujimoto in the crucial October 2005 relegation clash, again against the Sun Kings. The full results of the Survey are as follows:
Which is the best goal Omiya have scored in J1?
1. = Daigo v Marinos (20%) 1. = Denis Marques v Kashiwa (20%) 1. = Fujimoto v Kashiwa (20%) 4. = Daigo v FC Tokyo (10%) 4. = Daigo v Niigata (10%) 4. = Morita v Urawa (10%) 4. = Yokoyama v S-Pulse (10%) 8. Nishimura v Oita (0%)
But the new GGOA Survey returns to the fundamentals of Ardija's current fight against relegation. Next Saturday sees the first of four crucial matches with other teams struggling at the wrong end of the J1 table, as bogey team Sanfrecce Hiroshima provide the opposition in the final Squirrels home game at Komaba. And the GGOA question is a simple one: will Omiya record a rare victory against Hiroshima? Will it be a draw? Or will Sanfrecce beat Ardija and make the battle against the drop that much tougher? Whatever your opinion, scroll down to the voting box down in the bottom right-hand corner of this page and get voting!
