Yet more news from Australia indicates that John Aloisi says that he wants to remain in Europe, where he has spent all of his career since a teenager. The FourFourTwo website reports as follows:
While there's been a clutch of Aussies coming home for A-League season three, Socceroo striker John Aloisi will not be joining them. Aloisi insiders tell au.fourfourtwo.com that the 31-year-old Alaves forward will play his football in either England's [second-tier] Championship or remain in Spain this season.
"There's been a lot of talk but he won't be coming back to play in the A-League this season," revealed a source close to the player. "There's interest from England's Championship and elsewhere in Spain and I think that's where he'll be next season." Speculation had been rife in the off-season that the striker – who scored against Japan in the Asian Cup quarter finals – would join Sydney, Adelaide or even Queensland.
