Omiya Ardija's unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday as they were well and truly beaten by an impressive FC Tokyo side. Defensively the Squirrels were terrible, looking hesitant and lacking in organisation. It was again an unchanged Ardija starting line-up with the exception of Pedro Junior appearing up front instead of Kota Yoshihara - but the youngster was abysmal until being replaced by Chikara Fujimoto at half-time. Midfielder Yosuke Kataoka was another notable disappointment.
The first two Gashead goals came as the result of mix-ups with keeper Koji Ezumi and the his back four culpable. 22-year-old midfield man Yohei Kajiyama got the first on the quarter-hour, running on to a free header that Ezumi and the defence left to each other. Seventeen minutes later and the in-form Tokyo doubled their lead via new forward Cabore, who similarly took advantage of Omiya's jittery rearguard by lobbing the keeper as Leandro tracked back in vain.
At the other end, most of the Squirrels' opportunities fell to Denis Marques, but this was not one of the Brazilian's better days and although he got hold of a few shots they usually went wide of the mark. The visitors' coup de grace came in the 74th minute with Yuto Nagatomo on hand from close range to simply strike in the third with no one near him.
